Panshan Scenic Resort
Panshan Mountain,in Jixian County (historically known as Yuyang City) of Tianjin,is a National Scenic Area ranking among China's top fifteen scenic spots. It is also popularly known as the Number One Mountain of East Beijing and, from the Three-Kingdom Period through the late years of the Qing Dynasty (3rd to 20th centuries) ,had remained a favourite site of excursions by kings, emperors and celebrities. The mountain acquired the name of “Eastern Wutai Mountain” since the Tang Dynasty because of the multitude of Buddhist temples flourishing there. The summit of the mountain is 864 meters above sea level, and the five peaks, eight rocks and three Pans (twined pine trees) are the mountain's most wonderful vistas. In a distance, one sees a full panorama of seas of clouds and clusters of waving pine trees, and close by, one marvels at crystal-clear waters and odd shaped rocks. Every step leads to a picturesque scene, and every scene tells a legend. After a tour to Panshan Mountain,an enchanted Emperor Qian Long of the Qing Dynasty sighed "If I had known there is a Panshan J wouldn't have made tours to the South. ”
